About Albert Levy

Albert Levy was born with discriminating taste and a love of beautiful objects. His fascination began to grow during his high school years in Miami Beach. Although an athlete, he spent many hours after school in libraries and museums, consumed by a passion for fine art objects that would change his destiny.

After graduating Levy spent several years in San Francisco. He knew then and there that he had to transform his obsession into a career. Settling in San Francisco, the young man worked long hours at a downtown gallery and immersed himself in its estate collections, learning everyday from the many private collectors who shared his devotion to fine antique furniture, porcelain, art glass and silver. Admiring the style of 18th century works, he soon realized that artisans of the 19th century interpreted those styles beautifully yet had actually improved on craftsmanship. So began Levy's dream of opening his own gallery featuring the most exquisite examples of 19th and early 20th century art and antiques.

In 1989 Levy returned to Florida where he opened Spencer Antiques on Worth Avenue with business associate Samuel Dweck. Success quickly enabled Levy to offer the finest authentic originals from the 19th century, focusing on superb works by Linke, Sormani, Dasson and Zwiener. He filled the gallery with breathtaking Louis VX chandeliers, gorgeous Daum and Galle vases, splendid Lalique glass, and the Southeast's finest selection of Asian antiques.

By now experts in their field, the partners recently opened a sleek new gallery, A.B. Levy Rare Antiques & Fine Art, fulfilling Levy's vision of an ultra luxurious venue to showcase his superb collections. A short walk from the incredible peacock water of the tropical Atlantic, two floors cascade with objects of art as abundant as the bougainvillea outside, crowning years of experience, miles of exotic travels and thousands of auctions, exhibits and private sales. Quality is Levy's most important concern. He combs the globe to procure the rarest original objects and finest collectible art with an eye to fresh and authentic inventory. In the process he has become a premier purveyor of the most sought after investment quality treasures imaginable.

Stroll into A.B. Levy Rare Antiques & Fine Art on any brilliant south Florida day, beyond Worth Avenue's graceful palms, white walls and bright blue awnings, and you'll find Albert Levy in his own paradise. Sitting amid millions of dollars worth of marvelously crafted historical art objects from world-class collections, he waits to provide future owners, both private collectors and international dealers, with rich pleasures.
